Enhancing user experience on e-commerce website

February 2025

Aging technology and a tightly coupled codebase were slowing the client's time to market and hurting conversions. New Elevation modernized the platform with a MACH-based architecture — Elastic Path, Amplience CMS, and Constructor.io — delivered in phased sprints, resulting in higher conversion rates, B2B expansion, and full content flexibility.

The Challenge

The Challenge

The client’s outdated website hindered market delivery, lowered conversion rates, and complicated content management.

The client’s main challenge was a poorly performing website with old technologies, coupled with a dependency on intertwined frontend and backend code for deployment, hindering timely market delivery. Their old and outdated site also negatively affected user conversion rates, added difficulties in showcasing product segments, and created a complex content management workflow.

Our Approach

New Elevation used Agile-Scrum methodology and MACH technology to update the website, improving performance and usability.

The New Elevation team used an Agile-Scrum methodology to address this challenge. Epics, user stories, and spikes were created for analysis, design, and delivery. Using two-week sprints, website updates were released in phases. Updates included implementing MACH-based technology, Amplience CMS for content creation, a change from SFCC to EPCC, and a change to Constructor.io for easy and efficient category-based marketing. Once all the phases concluded, New Elevation delivered a new website, complete with updated features and UI redesigns, which were then handed over to the client for release and maintenance.

In the long term, the client witnessed higher customer and cart conversion rates, expansion of their business model to include B2B, and increased flexibility to adopt new technologies. The client was extremely satisfied with the results that New Elevation provided.
